You might remember our Wrist List when we talked about the Top 5 fitness bands, and Fitbit Flex was one of them. According to marketing materials leaked to The Verge, Fitbit could be planning to enter the smartwatch market with the Fitbit Surge.
According to my Sources, the Fitbit Surge is going to be filled with loads of fitness trackers such as counting steps, minutes active, as well as floor climbs. The Surge also plans to have a continuous PurePulse heart-rate monitoring as well as built-in GPS. The Surge keeps constant track of the user’s health while awake as well as sleep tracking.
The Fitbit Surge is all designed to work with the Fitbit app, which will pair with the user’s smartphone. This allows the user to receive text and call notifications as well as music controls.
The Surge is what Fitbit calls a “fitness superwatch”, and one of my Sources suggests that the user might be able to use the Surge without a smartphone like fitness band.
If the rumors can be believed, the Fitbit Surge should be out in a few weeks. It will be available in three colors of black, slate, and tangerine, and will be priced at about £200/$249.
