LG definitely has a definite smartwatch candidate in the present market with the G Watch. The company recently announced another contender for smartwatch supremacy with the G Watch R.
One thing that makes the Watch R such a brilliant specimen is that it has a circular plastic OLED or P-OLED display. What you are seeing in this image isn’t a mechanized watch with hands, but some sort of projection. My source states that you will have stunning image clarity even in bright sunlight.
As for what is inside, it comes with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, a 410mAh battery, 4GB of internal memory, as well as 512MB of RAM. Another feature is the interchangeable 22mm straps as well as a heart rate monitor underneath the watch itself.
Like the first G Watch, the G Watch R is made to run on Android Wear, the Google operating system designed for wearable tech. In addition to that feature, it has an Ingress Protection Rating of IP67, which means it can go 30 minutes underwater.
So far, there isn’t any word on the price, but the release date will be sometime in Q4. I suppose that it could be around by Christmas, and I think that we will see more watches with the circular face and P-OLED.
