For those who aren’t aware of the Pebble smartwatch, it just received an upgrade in its software known as Firmware 2.5. For those of you who have recently upgraded to iOS 8, then you should know it is compatible with Firmware 2.5.
According to my Source, this makes notifications easier to handle. Most smartwatches are terrific at giving the user their desired notifications, but before Firmware 2.5, the only way to get through them is to keep tapping that down button. If your notifications got stacked up, they would show up on the notification bar on your phone.
The new version shows the notifications with X’s next to it, so you can dismiss the entire notification, not to mention removing this notification from the Notification Center on iOS 8.
My Source also reveals a downside for this. For example, if you tap the Pebble watch’s left button, it will dismiss notifications without clearing them from the phone. Unfortunately, this removes all pending notifications from the watch.
I would imagine that eventually Pebble users will be able to “somehow preserve and dismiss notifications on an individual basis, so only the important ones would be waiting for you when you took out your iPhone.” Yes, I took that from my Source, and I suppose that this shows how smartwatch companies are trying hard to please smartwatch users, but it is a slow process.
