If you think about your typical smartwatch, you generally think of a timepiece with a flat slab of a touchscreen. Having all that power on a watch is great, but it is missing…classiness. Yes, have you seen Rolex’s smartwatch? It is because there isn’t one.
The smartwatch design by Kairos could change the way smartwatches are made. The reason why is because it has a transparent OLED display, and it will show you notifications from email, social media, and I would imagine anything else. If you are not getting any notifications, this Kairos smartwatch will look like an ordinary timepiece.
This Kairos watch will be able to sync with a smartphone thanks to Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. Other features include a vibration motor, 3-axis accelerometer, as well as a 180mAh battery which is good for 5-7 days.
Now the Kairos watch is not yet available for purchase just yet, but it is available for pre-order. The issue is that it is a lot, even for a smartwatch. It is available for $499, and I have actually heard that if you wait until the watch’s initial release around Christmas this year, you would have to pay a whopping $1,199.
Okay, if that amount of money to spend on a smartwatch doesn’t scare you, then you should know it comes in two forms: a 21-jewel Miyota 9257 Japanese automatic movement or a 25-jewel Soprod A10BV-2 Swiss automatic movement. I’m not certain what this means, but I like hearing about this very classy design for smartwatches will start a new trend.
