Will.i.am is best known for his frontman role for the Black Eyed Peas, but he also has his own company known as i.am+. This company is planning on putting out the Puls smartwatch, which Will states is not actually a smartwatch.
After all, how many smartwatches do you know that come with SIM cards that can support a 3G network? So far, it is only this one, but I’m sure there will be more once the Puls begins throbbing. The Puls also comes with speakers, as well as a touchscreen that curves all along the body.
As for what is inside, it has 16 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM, GPS, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The operating system is some kind of version of Android that isn’t Android Wear, and will have its own brand of voice assistant known as AnnedA.
Not only can the Puls operate independently of a smartphone, but it can connect to the Internet with WiFi. It also comes with Bluetooth, as well as an accelerometer for fitness apps.
So far, there is no word on the price of the Puls, but it should be out before the holidays. There is also word that the Puls will have some kind of “jacket with battery packs” to charge the Puls as long as it touches the sleeve, and provides the watch with two-and-a-half days of power. Other accessories include a backpack for speakers with shoes for counting steps.
